Private Klein Elliot and Barry Delaney, two childhood friends, had made pact. Before Elliot left for Afghanistan, he and a Delaney made a bittersweet deal that whomever died first; the other would wear a lime-colored dress to the others Funeral.

Private Klein Elliot’s funeral took place mid-September.
